About
Welcome to Dim Sum, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Shimla, right on the Mall Road, just next to Puma. This cozy Chinese restaurant beckons those with a penchant for savory delights, particularly its renowned momos. If you find yourself wandering through the picturesque lanes of Shimla, this spot promises a culinary experience that tantalizes your taste buds.
At Dim Sum, the menu bursts with an array of starters and side dishes that compliment the main attraction of this establishment: the momos. Their steamed and fried momos are the talk of the town. The juicy fillings burst with flavor, and the accompanying chutneys, notably the spicy red garlic one, elevate the dish to new heights. Whether you're a fan of chicken, mutton, or vegetarian options, there's a momo variety that will surely tempt your palate.
But momos aren't the only star here. Diners rave about the pork ribs — tender, succulent, and enveloped in a delicious sauce that leaves you longing for more. The spring rolls and various Manchurian dishes also add to the extensive menu, although opinions on these can vary. Reviewers have noted that while the food quality reigns supreme, the service can be a tad slow at times, with staff sometimes forgetting orders. However, the warmth of the food more than compensates for these occasional lapses.
For those craving something soothing on colder Shimla days, the selection of soups, including manchow and hot & sour, provides a comforting embrace. Pair your meal with a refreshing fresh lime soda or ice tea to cleanse your palate.
Although the seating may feel cramped during peak hours, especially with the restaurant's intimate setting, the vibrant atmosphere adds to the charm of Dim Sum. As you savor each bite, prepare for culinary echoes of spices and robust flavors that can only be found in this unique locale.
Overall, Dim Sum is highly recommendable for anyone in Shimla looking for an authentic Chinese dining experience, particularly those in search of exquisite momos and delectable soups. Come for the cozy atmosphere and stay for the flavors that linger long after your meal is over!
“ One of the small and cozy chinese restaurant located in mall road! The pricing is little higher for the quantity they provide the taste was good though You need to keep on reminding the staff to get your order as they tend to forget! ”
“ Their pork ribs are the best pork I ever had in India. It was so juicy & tender and the sauce was so tasty. Their momos is also very good. We didn’t like their spring rolls that much and not their iced tea also. The serving person could have been more welcoming. He looked like he was not much interested in working at all. ”
“ Stopped by this cozy little momos shop during my trip to Shimla, and it did not disappoint! Nestled in one of the lanes near Mall Road, the place has a relaxed vibe with a few tables. I tried the steamed chicken momos and mutton momos and the tandoori paneer momos — both were delicious. The chicken filling was juicy and well-seasoned, and the tandoori momos had that perfect smoky flavor with just the right amount of spice. The chutneys were spicy and full of flavor, especially the red garlic one. Service was quick and the staff was polite. Prices are super reasonable for the quality and portion size, which makes it a great stop for a snack or light meal. The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the seating area is a bit cramped during peak hours, and the fried momos were slightly oily. But honestly, the taste made up for it. If you're in Shimla and craving something hot and satisfying, this spot is definitely worth a visit! ”
“ Small cozy place on mall road Shimla for momos lovers. It is just next Puma. Not very fancy sitting but good Chinese food. I tried Mushroom curry aswel it was really good. Chef keeps on changing so you might feel different taste every time. Overall its a nice quick bite place. ”
“ Recommendable for momos! In the Himalayas, I really curious to try the momos (dumplings) with desi spicy chutney. This is the best place for momos and soups if you love them. It might seem a bit expensive, but it's definitely worth it. The taste and quality are superb! However, the seating area is just okay, and you need to be patient while waiting for your order. 4/5 - momos 4/5 - soup ”
“ One of the best places for Indo-Chinese cuisines around Mall Road. The seating capacity is quite small, just like other almost every other eating joint on Mall Road, Shimla. Ordering Fried momos, Talumein Soup, Noodles & Chilli Cheeze can hardly go wrong here. Service & quality of food is also good enough. Recommended. ”
“ Was wondering on Mall Road, Shimla craving for some nice momos and here we found this small outlet just adjacent to Domino’s. As soon as we entered the outlet, aroma of authentic Chinese cuisine blown out our minds and the 1st thing we ordered was momos. This small outlet provides a range of food items but as i was craving for momos so jus ordered - Steamed Momos - Fried Momos - Veg Thupka These veg dimsums served with hot n spicy sauce and mayo was toooo good to resist myself . I've tried veg thupka earlier as well but this time the experience was next level. They were definitely amazing and tasted so good. And the momos were Soft outside and yummy filling with this spicy dip make it a must try to have in the next visit again to Shimla Also the most important thing that these were damn economical. Even the whole menu seems to be price elastic and thus affordable to munch some nice food. Waiting to try my buds on other available range in the menu.
